Embassy Suites Buckhead finishes makeover

Embassy Suites Buckhead has put the finishing touches on its new look.

The multimillion-dollar renovation, which began in December 2008, included all 316 guest rooms, the lobby, meeting rooms and other common areas.

Built in 1988, Embassy Suites Buckhead last had a makeover in 2005.

“We have some new [hotel] supply in the market, with the opening of the W [Buckhead] and The Mansion [on Peachtree],” said Leila Campisi, director of sales and marketing for Embassy Suites Buckhead. “It was our turn to be shiny and new.”

With the economy slowing down, and occupancy lower, it was a great time to renovate rooms, she said.

“Now we can come out of the box strong in 2010,” said Campisi, who said she could not disclose the dollar figure of the renovation.

The renovations included replacing all room furniture and bedding and adding flat-screen TVs to every room, she said. Other renovations involved re-tiling and repainting the 16-floor atrium, as well as replacing the skylights.

      Embassy Suites Buckhead has also partnered with a spa company, Spa Utopia, “so now we offer in-suite spa services to all of our guests,” Campisi said. “In a time when hotels are closing restaurants and not offering as many services, we wanted to add some amenities and increase our value to the customer.”
